About the Role

DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan / Tenet Healthcare is hiring a Patient Care Associate (PCA) as a key member of the patient care services team. In this role, you will provide technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse who delegates tasks based on patient needs and your skills.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate and cooperate with care team members to ensure consistency and quality of care.
  • Perform a variety of basic patient care activities under the direction of a registered nurse.
  • Assist patients in activities of daily living by feeding, bathing, toileting, and other personal hygiene regimens.
  • Follow all departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, including continuous improvement initiatives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy and express interest in patient progress.
  • Answer questions from patients and their families and explain procedures and processes within the scope of your training.
  • As required by unit needs, perform general clerical duties which may include answering telephones and call lights, and greeting patients and visitors.
  • Enhance personal growth through participation in workshops, educational programs, in-service meetings, and reviewing current literature.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED.

Nice to Have

  • Six (6) months of direct patient care experience.
