CareHarmony is looking for a Patient Care Assistant to join the team on the Family Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). You will work under the direction of licensed personnel, providing compassionate support to patients with activities of daily living and performing foundational clinical tasks.
What You'll Do
- Perform and document vital signs, weights, heights, and intake/output measurements accurately and on schedule.
- Help patients with basic hygiene tasks including bathing, dressing, using the toilet, and feeding.
- Assist patients with turning, repositioning, and moving between bed and wheelchair.
- Listen to patient health concerns and report them promptly to nursing staff.
- Complete all required documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Interact effectively with patients and their families.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred, though experience cannot be substituted for this requirement.
Nice to Have
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification).
- Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (Massachusetts) or Nursing Assistant (LNA - New Hampshire) credentials.
- 1-2 years of experience in patient care or elder care.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong patient and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Proficient computer skills for working efficiently with electronic medical records.
