Glanbia Nutritionals Inc. is looking for a Packager to join our team at the Gooding Whey Plant. You will be responsible for packaging product and performing regular quality assurance checks on powder or cheese, ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with food safety regulations.
What You'll Do
- Package powder or cheese, seal bags, and stack them on pallets.
- Ensure correct weight is loaded in bags or boxes and perform tare weight checks.
- Wrap stacked product in cellophane sheets and place it in the warehouse using a forklift or pallet jack.
- Pull samples of product for laboratory analysis (every 25th bag).
- Check bin levels to prevent overflows and monitor cheese levels in towers.
- Ensure proper unloading of cheese blocks from towers.
- Record the number of bags filled and check and record metal detector sensitivity.
- Clean the packaging room and assigned areas.
- Restock the bag room with supplies like bags, pallets, cardboard, and routine maintenance items.
- Comply with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Must be able to read numbers and do simple math (addition and subtraction).
- Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment.
- Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality.
