Responsibilities
- Carry out on-site evaluations, compliance checks, and verification of corrections for outside plant infrastructure
- Inspect aerial cable installations for adherence to safety and construction standards
- Examine underground and buried cable systems for proper installation and condition
- Assess wooden utility poles at ground level to ensure they meet structural and safety requirements
- Confirm that contractor-installed work follows established OSP construction guidelines and NESC regulations
- Record inspection results, audits, and pole ownership transfers using digital systems
- Document observed issues during field inspections
- List necessary corrective actions based on inspection findings
- Provide formal verification of regulatory and procedural compliance
- Complete inspection records manually with printed forms when electronic systems are unavailable
- Use GPS devices and mapping software to identify and log facility locations
- Maintain clear and timely communication with project teams, contractors, and clients through email and mobile devices
- Monitor the status of inspections and ensure follow-through on required fixes
- Escalate unresolved compliance concerns according to protocol
- Organize travel, time, and inspection schedules efficiently, including last-minute assignments
- Assist in supervising construction contractors to confirm timely and accurate completion of corrective work
