Responsibilities
- Offering second line supervision of issues, actions, and controls monitoring as per the Operational Risk Procedures.
- Examining Operational Risk data, including incidents, external regulations, and risk event scanning to provide insights and identify trends and/or risks.
- Utilizing strong data analysis skills to update, maintain, and monitor risk data in Google Sheets and Looker to assist the team in overseeing operational risk.
- Aiding in the implementation and operation of the risk management framework by embedding oversight and monitoring.
- Assisting managers in conducting in-depth assurance and/or change reviews of various business areas through data collection, analysis, and well-written reports.
- Monitoring Operational Risk channels to ensure support and guidance are provided to other business areas and that significant risks are escalated to the appropriate forums.
- Assisting Operational Risk Managers on key projects that impact the entire business.
- Managing team actions, agendas, documentation, and coordinating team events.
Requirements
- Risk management background, with a willingness to learn
- Hands-on approach, with attention to daily details
- Comfortable attempting new tasks independently and seeking support when needed
- Proficient in working with data, using SQL and/or databases/dashboards like Looker/BigQuery
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Curious and collaborative, with strong questioning skills to quickly understand and act on information
- Interest in reviewing risk assessments and/or control gap assessments in financial or technology environments
- Willingness to provide insightful challenges while building strong, respectful relationships
- Experience in the retail banking and/or technology environment
