HR Consulting Ines Schöffmann GmbH is looking for an Ontology & Semantic Technologies Expert to join as a long-term contractor for a major European Institution. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of data, turning raw information into actionable knowledge within an international, multilingual, and multicultural environment.
What You'll Do
- Design and Improve Ontologies: Create and refine semantic models, adopting well-established vocabularies to ensure clarity and interoperability.
- Shape Systems at the Conceptual Level: Define specifications for system creation, harmonization, and optimization, with emphasis on data protection, content negotiation, and monitoring.
- Guide Implementation and Migration: Develop strategies, test plans, and contribute to standardization efforts such as ELI and DCAT-AP.
- Keep Systems Running Smoothly: Monitor and troubleshoot Semantic Web applications in production.
- Bridge Tech and Business: Align semantic solutions with business goals, engaging stakeholders and measuring real-world impact.
- Be a Knowledge Leader: Share expertise on trends, train colleagues, present recommendations, and contribute to knowledge transfer.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: Represent the company in conferences, workshops, and webinars, continuously learning and applying the latest advances.
What We're Looking For
- University degree in IT or a relevant discipline.
- 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a software development environment.
- At least 3 years of experience in RDF and RDF-S.
- At least 2 years of experience in OWL 2, RDF serialization formats (RDFa, Turtle, RDF/XML, JSON-LD), Triple stores (Virtuoso or equivalent), and SPARQL 1.0/1.1.
- At least 2 years of experience in Java (Java SE, Java EE, EJB) or Python.
- At least 2 years of experience in Linux.
- At least 2 years of experience in databases and querying (e.g., Oracle, SQL, Elastic Search, Mongo DB, Neo4j).
- At least 1 year of experience in OWL-DL, XML, Microsoft Windows 7+, monitoring tools (e.g., ELK, Dynatrace), version management tools (e.g., SVN, Bitbucket), issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA), collaborative systems (e.g., Confluence), Microsoft Office 365, and Cloud-native and distributed systems (e.g., API Gateway, REST, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent command of the English language.
