AECOM is hiring an ONSITE - Public Assistance Specialists

About the Role

This role involves managing disaster recovery initiatives by assisting clients with public assistance programs, ensuring adherence to federal guidelines, and facilitating the processing of claims and documentation for recovery funding.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate client needs related to disaster recovery funding
  • Guide applicants through federal public assistance procedures
  • Prepare and review grant applications for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and program requirements
  • Coordinate with federal and state agencies on recovery efforts
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions and submissions
  • Conduct site visits to assess damage and recovery progress
  • Assist in developing recovery plans aligned with funding criteria
  • Respond to inquiries from stakeholders and agency representatives
  • Track application status and follow up on pending items
  • Identify potential funding eligibility issues early
  • Support audits and reviews by providing necessary documentation
  • Train clients on program requirements and reporting expectations
  • Collaborate with technical teams to validate project scopes
  • Communicate updates on policy changes affecting funding
  • Organize and present data for program evaluations
  • Ensure timely submission of all required forms and certifications
  • Work with legal and financial advisors on complex cases
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information
  • Assist in resolving disputes related to funding decisions
  • Prepare reports summarizing program outcomes
  • Participate in interagency coordination meetings
  • Support emergency response activation protocols
  • Document lessons learned for future recovery improvements
  • Promote equitable access to recovery resources

Project Assignment

This position is assigned to support a federally funded disaster recovery program in a designated region affected by natural disasters. The specialist will work directly with local governments and agencies to facilitate recovery efforts.

Security Requirements

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for this role.

Work Environment

Work is conducted primarily onsite at client offices or disaster recovery centers. Occasional travel to affected sites may be required, including areas with limited infrastructure.
