Stevens Transport Inc is hiring an Onsite CDL Driver Recruiter to manage the full recruitment process for commercial driver's license (CDL) holders. You will be responsible for sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring qualified drivers to build and maintain a skilled, dependable workforce.
What You'll Do
- Utilize applicant tracking systems, online databases, and referrals to source potential CDL drivers.
- Initiate contact with candidates via phone and email to assess interest and qualifications.
- Review DOT, state, local, and company requirements to assess candidate qualifications and compliance.
- Conduct in-depth phone interviews to evaluate driving skills, work history, and alignment with company standards.
- Verify driving records, criminal records, and employment history to ensure compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of candidate documentation and information.
- Coordinate and conduct interviews to assess practical decision-making, professionalism, and safety commitment.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify suitable candidates and extend job offers.
- Assist in coordinating the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and training scheduling.
- Generate and maintain accurate recruitment reports and manage candidate data in recruitment software.
- Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential drivers to build a talent network.
- Attend industry events and job fairs to promote the company and attract talent.
- Ensure constant communication with applicants throughout the recruiting lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruitment software, and related tools.
- Strong computer and typing skills in a Windows environment, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to handle high volumes of inbound and outbound calls and email.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines.
- Ability to provide valuable and timely customer service to candidates, hiring managers, and senior management.
- Ability to take initiative.
- Capable of thriving as a team player but also driven by autonomy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of CDL requirements, FMCSA regulations, and industry standards.
- Previous experience in recruitment, particularly in CDL driver recruitment or a related role within transportation/logistics.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.

- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate candidate documentation.
- Exceptional communication - strong oral, written, interpersonal skills, and active listening skills.
- Experience with TenStreet ATS Application.
