GeeksOnSite is hiring an On-Call POS Installation Technician as an independent contractor. You will be dispatched to commercial locations across the U.S. to install and configure point-of-sale systems, verify connectivity, and ensure a smooth handoff to the client.
What You'll Do
- Install POS hardware including terminals, card readers, pin pads, cash drawers, and tablets.
- Configure connections (Ethernet/Wi-Fi), verify power, and ensure device synchronization.
- Connect equipment to existing network infrastructure.
- Coordinate with remote technicians or vendor support for system testing.
- Maintain clean and professional cable management.
- Submit photos, documentation, and completion notes through our CRM.
- Represent the GeeksOnSite brand with professionalism and quality workmanship.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in field IT, low-voltage installations, or a similar technical field.
- Familiarity with one or more POS systems, with a focus on Clover, Square, Verifone, or UniPay.
- Experience with touchscreen or tablet-based POS terminals.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot connectivity, sync, and power issues.
- Possession of basic installation tools: drill, screwdrivers, zip ties, cable testers, etc.
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and a smartphone with camera and data.
- Strong communication skills and a clean, professional work style.

- Background with ISP installations, kiosks, routers, or small business technology setups.
