ICF Incorporated, LLC, seeks an On-Call Senior Architectural Historian to join our cultural resources team. In this remote role, you will work under team leads to conduct architectural survey and reporting for Section 106 compliance, primarily in Georgia and the Southeastern United States.
What You'll Do
- Conduct or supervise historical research in local, state, and regional libraries and archives.
- Supervise and contribute to historic resources surveys and assessments, including site inspections, research, photography, and evaluation under state and national criteria.
- Supervise preparation of, or prepare, historic property inventory forms including statements of significance and architectural descriptions.
- Assist with the preparation of NEPA and Section 106 regulatory documents.
- Supervise preparation of, or prepare, architectural history survey reports, including GDOT survey and evaluation documents.
- Collaborate with archeologists, architectural historians, planners, and cultural landscape specialists toward an integrated multi-disciplinary approach.
- Assist with project coordination under the direction of senior technical staff and project management teams.
- Serve as a liaison to assist technical staff on project teams.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree in a related field and 8+ years of professional experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of the history and architectural history of Georgia and/or other southeastern states.
- Experience with supervising and conducting field survey.
- Experience with completing architectural survey and evaluation reports.
- Familiarity with GDOT architectural history practice and documents.
- Experience with research on the Georgia’s Natural, Archaeological, and Historic Resources Information System (GNAHRGIS).
- Prior experience with NHPA Section 106.
- Demonstrable research and technical writing abilities, especially with the ability to present clear, precise, and authoritative arguments.
- Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Project).
- Familiarity with ESRI Field Maps.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $67,020.00 - $137,860.00
