Geeks on Site is seeking an On-Call IT Field Technician to provide expert onsite technical support to residential and small business customers. You will be dispatched to customer locations in the Tallahassee and Panama City areas to work independently, diagnosing and resolving a wide variety of technology issues. This is a flexible, independent contractor position with no guaranteed hours.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues on Windows and macOS systems.
- Resolve boot errors, operating system issues, and login problems.
- Set up or troubleshoot Wi-Fi and wired internet connections.
- Replace or upgrade hardware components such as HDD, RAM, and cooling fans.
- Configure and connect printers and scanners from brands like Canon, HP, and Brother.
- Address common printer error codes related to ink, paper feed, and connectivity.
- Perform general maintenance on multifunction printers (MFPs).
- Reinstall operating systems using bootable USBs or recovery media.
- Install remote tools or shortcuts as requested by customers.
- Communicate clearly with customers and provide basic post-service support.
- Document service visits thoroughly and escalate complex issues as needed.
What We're Looking For
