ICF Incorporated, LLC is hiring an On-Call Architectural Historian to provide support for architectural survey and reporting, particularly for Section 106 compliance projects in Georgia and the Southeast United States. You will join a team dedicated to helping our clients navigate complex regulatory and historical challenges.
What You'll Do
- Conduct historical research in local, state, and regional libraries and archives.
- Contribute to historic resources surveys, including site inspections, research, photography, and evaluation under state and national criteria.
- Prepare historic property inventory forms with statements of significance and architectural descriptions.
- Assist with the preparation of NEPA and Section 106 regulatory documents.
- Assist with the preparation of architectural history survey reports, including GDOT-specific documents.
- Collaborate with archeologists, other architectural historians, planners, and cultural landscape specialists in a multi-disciplinary approach.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- 1+ years of professional experience.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of the history and architectural history of Georgia and/or other southeastern states.
- Familiarity with GDOT architectural history practice and documents.
- Experience with research on Georgia’s Natural, Archaeological, and Historic Resources Information System (GNAHRGIS).
- Prior experience with NHPA Section 106.
- Demonstrable research and technical writing abilities, with a capacity to present clear and authoritative arguments.
- Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Project).
- Familiarity with ESRI Field Maps.

Team & Environment
You will work under the supervision of cultural resources team leads, collaborating closely with archeologists, architectural historians, planners, and cultural landscape specialists toward integrated cultural resources investigations.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation Range: $50,353.00 - $94,160.00
