About the Role
The Occupational Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to implement treatment plans, assist clients with therapeutic activities, and document progress in a remote setting.
Responsibilities
- Deliver therapeutic interventions as outlined in client treatment plans
- Support clients in developing skills for daily living and independence
- Conduct remote therapy sessions using secure digital platforms
- Monitor and record client progress consistently
- Communicate regularly with supervising occupational therapists
- Adapt activities based on client needs and feedback
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Follow ethical and professional standards in all interactions
- Engage clients and caregivers in the therapy process
- Assist in evaluating client performance during sessions
- Provide feedback to therapists for plan adjustments
- Use virtual tools to demonstrate exercises and techniques
- Ensure client confidentiality and data security
- Participate in team meetings and case reviews
- Stay current with best practices in occupational therapy
- Support onboarding of new clients to teletherapy platforms
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues during sessions
- Promote client motivation and engagement remotely
- Coordinate schedules with clients and supervisors
- Report any concerns about client safety or progress
- Follow compliance guidelines for remote healthcare delivery
- Assist in preparing materials for client use
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain professional licensure and certifications
- Respond promptly to client and team communications
