About the Role

Trane Technologies is hiring a Nurse for our Ambulatory Treatment Center. In this role, you will use your competencies to administer and monitor a variety of systemic cancer therapies and other injectable infusions to an adult population. Your primary purpose will be to positively affect patient outcomes by providing, coordinating, and supporting evidence-based direct patient care across the continuum of care.

What You'll Do

  • Administer and monitor a variety of systemic cancer therapies and other injectable infusions.
  • Provide, coordinate, and support evidence-based direct patient care across the continuum of care.
  • Administer infusions including standard of care and research chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, blood products, IVIG, growth factors, antibiotics, electrolytes, and hydration.
  • Assess and educate patients and family/caregivers to ensure future care needs are met.
  • Develop collaborative, professional relationships with physicians and all members of the health care team.
  • Perform IV insertion and venous access device management.
  • Accurately administer and monitor infusions via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous routes.
  • Perform an independent double-check for chemotherapy administration.
  • Safely handle and dispose of chemotherapy to minimize patient and staff exposure to hazardous drugs.
  • Manage continuous infusion pump connects and disconnects.
  • Manage treatment-related side effects and adverse reactions.
  • Minimize the risk for infection among patients who are actually or potentially immunocompromised.
  • Facilitate early detection of specific side effects to enable effective self-management.

What We're Looking For

  • Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing (RN).
  • One year of relevant clinical nursing experience.
  • Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Nice to Have

  • Two years of nursing experience.
  • Chemo-infusion experience.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
  • OCN – Oncology Nursing Certification; certification in oncology or specialty area.
