The General Hospital Corporation is hiring a Nurse (RN) for the Blake 8 Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. You will join a Magnet®-designated nursing team in our state-of-the-art 18 bed unit, providing patient and family centered care based on current evidence to a highly acute population requiring surgical and percutaneous interventions.
What You'll Do
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Administer medications to patients and monitor for reactions or side effects.
- Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
What We're Looking For
- Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience or current ICU experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse [RN - State License]
Technical Stack
- Ventricular assist devices
- Continuous renal replacement therapies
- Intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation
- Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation
Team & Environment
You will join an 18 bed unit supported by a leadership team that includes a Nursing Director, a Medical Director/Intensivist, and a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist. You will be part of a comprehensive multidisciplinary team.
Work Mode
This position is onsite at 273 Charles Street.
