Corewell Health South – Lakeland Hospitals is hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a new Walk-In Clinic in Dowagiac, MI. This full-time role involves delivering primary and urgent care in a fast-paced environment, working three 12-hour shifts per week and seeing 30-40 acute visits per shift.
What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive primary and/or urgent care within regulatory guidelines.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, prescribe medications, and coordinate patient care.
- Conduct complete screenings, routine examinations, and assessments to devise a plan of care.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and notify patients of results.
- Assess patient information and symptoms remotely to prescribe treatment or refer.
- Consult and instruct patients to provide support, facilitate recovery, and foster self-care.
- Arrange for or refer patients to needed services that cannot be provided at the clinic.
- Participate in the development, execution, and annual review of clinic policies.
- Commit to continuous improvement of patient experience, safety, quality of care, and service.
- Participate in clinic quality improvement activity.
What We're Looking For
- Master's Degree MSN-Nurse Practitioner OR Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
- LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan Upon Hire
- LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - State of Michigan Upon Hire OR LIC-Physician Assistant (PA) - State of Michigan Upon Hire
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association within 90 Days
Nice to Have
- Doctorate Degree
- 1 year of relevant clinical experience as a nurse practitioner
- 1 year of relevant clinical experience as a physician assistant
- CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire
- CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire
