The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Urology, is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our team. You will provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to urology patients, focusing on general urology with opportunities for subspecialty development under faculty mentorship.
What You'll Do
- Acquire patient history and perform physical examinations for urology patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests and monitor intervention effectiveness.
- Prescribe necessary treatment and services to ensure quality patient care.
- Perform office-based procedures within your scope of practice.
- Collaborate with other providers and healthcare team members, making appropriate referrals.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Facilitate evidence-based decision-making for staff, patients, and families.
- Potentially participate in research and development projects.
- Participate in the education of APP learners, residents, fellows, and medical students.
- Document history and physical exams, write progress notes and discharge summaries.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records per department standards.
- Seek supervising physician consultation as needed and participate in case reviews.
- Participate in quality and safety initiatives.
- Complete all required training in a timely fashion.
What We're Looking For
- For Nurse Practitioner: Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- For Nurse Practitioner: Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority.
- For Nurse Practitioner: Active Board Certification in an appropriate nursing specialty.
- For Nurse Practitioner: Three (3) years of nursing experience.
- For Physician Assistant: Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- For Physician Assistant: Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority.
- For Physician Assistant: Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Team & Environment
You will collaborate closely with urology faculty and APP staff under faculty supervision and mentorship.
Work Mode
This position requires onsite work.
