Universally Speaking is hiring a Norwegian Games Tester in Liverpool to ensure linguistic perfection in video games. You'll be the guardian of language, working directly with testers, translators, and developers to make every word, phrase, and line feel natural, accurate, and culturally right.
What You'll Do
- Work side by side with talented testers, translators, and developers, reporting issues clearly and ensuring they are resolved.
- Guard the linguistic quality of every game, verifying that all text, menus, and in-game messages are natural and culturally appropriate.
- Test games using proven Universally Speaking LQA methods that define the industry standard for linguistic quality.
- Use professional bug databases to describe linguistic issues, track their progress, and verify fixes.
- Grow from a tester to a trusted LQA expert across projects, owning projects and mastering the full testing cycle.
- Write and refine test cases, document findings, and help set the bar for best practices in LQA.
- Collaborate with developers and fellow testers early in the process to shape how a game's localization is tested and improved.
- Constantly seek smarter ways to work, taking initiative to optimize workflows, share knowledge, and raise standards.
What We're Looking For
- Native-level fluency in Norwegian.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for linguistic and cultural accuracy.
- Ability to clearly report issues and collaborate effectively within a team.
