Responsibilities
- Write NHL breaking news stories.
- Pitch, report, write and fact-check hockey stories.
- Follow The Athletic’s editorial standards.
- Attend regular editorial meetings and collaborate with NHL editors and reporters on ideas and assignments.
- Edit and publish hockey stories.
Requirements
- Undergraduate students who are ideally in their junior year, senior year, or a recent graduate.
- Ability to work a 30–40 hour work week, including nights and weekends.
- A journalism background and an understanding of how newsrooms operate.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Flexibility: ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment where needs and priorities can change quickly.
- Deep knowledge of and passion for hockey.

Additional Information
- It may require some travel to Chicago and/or New York City.
- Candidates in New York City have the option of working on-site in the New York City office.
