About the Role

The Design Department Lead will spearhead the design strategy, ensuring it aligns with the company's goals and enhances the user experience. This role involves managing a team of designers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving the design vision for solar products.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the design team in creating user-centered solar solutions.
  • Develop and implement the design strategy and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Create user-centered designs by considering market trends, customer needs, and business objectives.
  • Produce high-quality design artifacts, including user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions.
  • Present and defend design decisions to stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering their professional growth.
  • Stay updated with the latest design trends and tools.
  • Ensure the design system is consistent and scalable.
  • Work closely with product managers to define the product vision and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are feasible and scalable.
  • Participate in design critiques and provide constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development of the design culture and processes.
  • Manage design projects from concept to completion.
  • Ensure designs meet accessibility and usability standards.
