Ssctech is hiring a Network Operations Center Engineer to join the RealTick EMS NOC team in Chicago on the 2nd Shift. In this role, you will provide frontline incident management, monitor business-critical systems, execute changes, and troubleshoot hardware and software across our global data center environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide Tier 1 Incident Management support for production software systems and networks, investigating outages and tracking issues in the Incident Reporting System.
- Provide continuous surveillance of hardware and software monitoring systems and investigate all alerts.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues, escalating as required by established protocol.
- Install and configure business applications and develop ways to add new functionality to existing systems.
- Execute Change Requests for proprietary software upgrades and configurations across enterprise systems.
- Analyze data models to view processes and trends, making recommendations to improve network performance.
- Install, configure, and administer Operating Systems and updates on server environments.
- Configure, rack, and cable physical servers in the Chicago Data Center.
- Perform standard server maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with 3rd Party Technicians to schedule hardware replacement and troubleshooting.
What We're Looking For
- 2-3 years of IT systems support and technology troubleshooting experience.
- 2 years of MS Windows software support experience within a customer service setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to complete projects as scheduled.
- Ability to work under pressure with strict attention to detail.
Nice to Have
- Software: Microsoft Windows 10/11, Windows Server (familiarity with Server 2019/2022/2025), Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Active Directory, Microsoft SharePoint.
- Hands-on Dell and HP Blade Server experience.
- Familiarity with Virtual machines and VMWare.
- Familiarity with trading equities, futures, options.
