This role is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of network infrastructure, including design, deployment, integration, and ongoing maintenance across geographically diverse environments. Working within an agile scrum team, the engineer ensures network systems meet performance, security, and operational requirements aligned with customer and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead network buildouts and deployment initiatives in operational settings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using agile methodologies to prioritize and deliver network solutions
- Act as the primary technical resource for network engineering on the program
- Plan and execute network upgrades, including configuration, integration, and testing at remote sites
- Travel internationally to locations such as Guam, Alaska, and Europe to oversee and perform installations
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues independently
- Deliver regular status updates and technical reporting to program stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in network engineering with demonstrated skills in design, implementation, and testing
- Strong command of TCP/IP, OSI model, and routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
- Hands-on experience with firewall technologies from Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto
- Familiarity with UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE tunnels, and TCP/IP network architecture
- Working knowledge of multi-vendor routing and switching platforms, including Cisco and Juniper
- Experience with WAN optimization tools, TACLANEs, and optical transport systems
- Understanding of Department of Defense security standards, including STIG compliance and system accreditation processes
- CCNA or JNCIA certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire

Work Environment
