The Network/UC Engineer plays a key role in enabling global office deployments by serving as the local technical presence during infrastructure rollouts. Working in close coordination with a distributed team of senior UC engineers, this position ensures that network and unified communications systems are correctly installed, configured, and operational in new office environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the onsite technical resource during global office builds, providing physical support where remote access is limited or unavailable
- Perform layer 1 tasks and hands-on setup of network and voice infrastructure
- Establish and configure new voice gateways from the ground up using IOS-based systems
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to network connectivity and voice services, including PRI circuits, dial-peers, and SRST configurations
- Recover lost passwords and restore IOS firmware on affected devices
- Support inline power troubleshooting and identify defective hardware when present
- Communicate technical findings clearly and maintain accurate documentation of all onsite activities
Qualifications
- Valid passport and readiness for frequent short-term international travel
- CCNA-level networking proficiency with demonstrated field experience
- At least five years of hands-on work implementing and troubleshooting network and voice systems
- Familiarity with CCNA Voice-level configurations and concepts
- Proven ability to configure LAN, WAN, and voice settings on IOS gateways
- Experience working directly in customer-facing technical environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Technology Environment
This role works primarily with Cisco-based infrastructure, including Cisco 3900 ISR routers, Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco 7945G IP phones, and DX650 video endpoints.
