Field Producer (Midwest), News Media Newsgathering A leading media organization seeks a dynamic Field Producer for its news division, specializing in the Midwest region. Role Description: The Field Producer must work closely with reporters and production teams to pitch, develop, and produce impactful stories across broadcast and digital platforms, emphasizing distinctive visual storytelling. Candidates will be expected to travel on short notice within the Midwest region and work varied shifts. Location: Midwest region (specific location(s) to be determined) Key Responsibilities: - Pitch, develop, and execute compelling enterprise and day-of news stories - Produce live segments from field, studio, or remote locations - Write and vet scripts, oversee reporter packages - Conduct interviews and create graphics - Coordinate on-site coverage of breaking news and live events - Secure locations and interviews while maintaining journalistic integrity - Edit video content from various sources - Provide real-time newsroom updates - Support Assignment Desk as needed - Execute under tight deadlines in high-pressure environments Qualifications: - Minimum five years' experience in major television news - Proven experience producing live segments - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Strong news judgment and strategic thinking - Comprehensive newsgathering knowledge - Ability to develop and maintain news sources - Flexibility for varied schedules and travel - Proficient with camera technologies - Valid driver's license Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and additional perks.
