Heartstrings Pet Hospice is looking for a Mobile Veterinarian to provide compassionate in-home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care for pets. In this role, you will work independently in the field with full support from our medical leadership team and operational infrastructure. Your focus will be on meaningful, low-stress medicine that supports both pets and their families during a critical time.
What You'll Do
- Provide in-home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care in a compassionate, Fear Free–aligned manner.
- Support families through the end-of-life process with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
- Guide families in making end-of-life decisions for their pets.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
- Collaborate with Heartstrings’ medical leadership and support teams.
- Participate in ongoing training, education, and clinical development.
- Build relationships with local veterinary clinics, serving as an extension of their care.
What We're Looking For
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS) from an accredited veterinary school.
- Active (or ability to obtain) veterinary license in the state of practice.
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Availability to work some weekends as part of a rotating schedule.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
- Subject to a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) check post-hire.
Nice to Have
- Experience in hospice, palliative care, or Fear Free certification is a plus.

Work Mode
This role is local to the Austin, TX area. You will be providing mobile veterinary services in Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Leander & Other Surrounding Areas.
