About the Role

Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy (OVCA), powered by Stride K12, is hiring a highly qualified, state-certified Middle School Math Teacher. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering specific course content in an engaging online environment, providing instruction and guidance while focusing on students’ individual needs. You'll be part of an organization with a mission to provide an exemplary, individualized educational experience for students.

What You'll Do

  • Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
  • Commit to personalizing learning for all students and demonstrate a belief in their ability to succeed.
  • Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery.
  • Augment course content using appropriate tools under guidance from principal and coach.
  • Maintain grade book, ensure student academic integrity, and make placement and promotion decisions.
  • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and prepare students for standardized tests.
  • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches regularly.
  • Support learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic technical troubleshooting.
  • Travel as required (approximately once per month or 20% of the time) for professional development, testing, and school events.

What We're Looking For

  • Appropriate current Oklahoma Middle School Math certification (mid-level or 5-12 math).
  • Must reside in Oklahoma.
  • Bachelor's degree and an active state teaching license.
  • Ability to clear a required background check.
  • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week, from a professional home office.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to interpret student data and use it to drive instructional decisions.
  • Receptive to receiving regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
  • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
  • Ability to maintain certification and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with the proposed age group.
  • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
  • Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or brick-and-mortar environment.
  • Experience with online learning platforms.

Work Mode

This role is based in Oklahoma. Candidates must reside in the state. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the compensation range.
