Umpisa Inc. is seeking a Mid IT Business Analyst to join our team. In this remote role, you will focus on gathering and documenting requirements for IT systems, enhancements, and features. You'll work closely with a Project Manager and a self-organizing Scrum team within a scaled agile framework to define project scope, manage defects, and translate business needs into clear documentation.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with the assigned Project Manager to ensure project scope is well defined and tracked.
- Gather and document requirements for the implementation of IT Systems, Enhancements, and Features.
- Evaluate existing business solutions, identify requirements, and develop strategies to maximize opportunities.
- Facilitate and/or support meetings to elicit requirements from business users and stakeholders.
- Review documents from business users as inputs to requirements gathering activities.
- Write Business Requirements Documents as inputs to Project Development and Testing phases.
- Write Business Process Documents as references for business users on post-implementation process changes.
- Write Requirements Traceability Matrix to track and validate delivery of requirements.
- Manage defects with prompt turnaround from reporting to verification and closure.
- Translate Business Requirements into test cases.
- Assist users in clarifying requirements and defining acceptance criteria for testing.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or its equivalent.
- At least 3 years’ experience in performing Business Analysis in Software Engineering or Software Testing.
- Hands-on experience with Bug Tracking tools such as Jira, Mantis, or BugZilla.
- Good understanding of the project lifecycle, documentation, standards, and methodologies.
- Experience in writing Business Requirements, Business Process Documents, and Requirements Traceability Matrix.
- Experience in defining and documenting process workflows for system implementation.
- Experience in writing test plans, test cases, test execution, and test reporting.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Wants to work as part of a self-organizing Scrum team in a scaled agile framework.
- Must be a self-starter and enjoy collaborating with the team and client.
