About the Role

Canada Life is looking for a Mental Health Consultant to be a key part of our morbidity strategy for mental health claims. You will use your expertise to enhance the confidence and competencies of our case management and disability intervention teams, aiming for high-quality customer service and proactive claims management that results in successful return-to-work outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Provide individual and group mentoring to team members.
  • Consult on mental health claims through detailed file reviews and discussions.
  • Deliver written responses to complex questions within a standard turnaround time.
  • Promote the effective use of tools and interventions for mental health claims.
  • Engage directly with health care providers via telephone as needed.
  • Stay current on new developments in mental health, complex claims management, and relevant tools.
  • Partner with the Best Practice team and other internal partners to evaluate new tools and services.

What We're Looking For

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in disability case management and/or intervention services.
  • A demonstrated skill and track record in resolving complex mental health claims.
  • Proven experience providing mentoring and consulting on complex mental health claims.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Superior collaboration and conflict resolution skills to foster learning and knowledge exchange.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Comfort using technology, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills to achieve required results.
  • A self-starter who works effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to excel within a Purpose and Vision driven work environment.
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance, required as a condition of employment.

Nice to Have

  • Demonstrated experience providing educational or training sessions.
  • Bilingualism (fluent in French and English) is an asset but required for Quebec only.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Annual salary range: $52,800.00 - $97,700.00.
