About the Role

The Medical Science Liaison serves as a clinical and scientific expert for AI-powered imaging solutions in Italy. This role leads the design and execution of clinical studies, builds strategic partnerships with healthcare institutions, and provides clinical insights to inform product development and regulatory strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert in clinical imaging and technical workflows relevant to the specialty and modality under study
  • Identify obstacles to project success and lead proactive initiatives to enhance research progress
  • Create and implement strategies to generate robust clinical evidence
  • Provide input and feedback on the product roadmap to product management teams
  • Inform leadership on long-term clinical strategy decisions
  • Establish, manage, and oversee partnerships with healthcare providers, research institutions, and hospitals
  • Promote product innovations and messaging to strengthen and sustain relationships
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design, assess feasibility, plan, launch, and support research programs
  • Manage clinical studies including project planning, RACI charts, communication strategies, budget proposals, timelines, deliverables definition, and contract agreements
  • Develop key study documents such as protocols, IRB submissions, participant materials, recruitment strategies, data management plans, and data analysis plans
  • Coordinate engagement across multiple stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ethical standards, and applicable regulations
  • Safeguard the validity and integrity of company-sponsored collaborations
  • Work professionally with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, physicians, and researchers
  • Integrate clinical insights into product design and refinement processes
  • Work on-site with healthcare professionals and clinical collaborators to collect clinical feedback
  • Identify unmet clinical needs and validate use cases during the Beta phase
  • Support evaluation, implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of research products in real-world settings
  • Serve as the primary contact for innovation partner sites
  • Facilitate communication and coordination of multidisciplinary research initiatives
  • Provide clinical expertise during interactions with regulatory authorities and external partners
  • Develop scientific presentations and publications to support marketing efforts
  • Highlight credible clinical evidence that supports product claims and proof points
  • Ensure accurate and consistent representation of company offerings to healthcare providers
  • Analyze and interpret clinical data to assess product safety, efficacy, and performance

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in healthcare, medical imaging/radiology, or a related field, with an advanced degree such as PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree with an additional 2 years of extensive relevant research and medical imaging experience
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree (BS, BSN, RN, NP, PA, RT, RDMS) with an additional 4 years of extensive relevant research and medical imaging experience
  • Strong background in clinical trials for medical devices, preferably in imaging diagnostics or digital health
  • Clinical expertise in a specific therapeutic area such as radiology, oncology, or cardiology
  • Proven experience designing and managing clinical studies with a record of delivering outcomes on time and within budget
  • Understanding of statistical analysis and clinical data interpretation methods, with experience collecting and using clinical data in study design
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards including FDA, ISO 14155, and ICH-GCP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trust with highly educated specialists
  • Strong project management skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to demonstrate resilience and diplomacy when advocating for company interests, particularly during negotiations and contract enforcement
  • Demonstrates initiative, self-management, attention to detail, organizational skills, creative problem solving, and proactive leadership
  • Solid experience in product management for healthcare informatics solutions, including development and launch
  • Established understanding of clinical and operational workflows in healthcare settings
  • Proven track record in deploying healthcare products and services
  • Product-oriented mindset with the ability to balance technical knowledge and business acumen
  • Ability to evaluate and communicate trade-offs between feature requests for effective prioritization
  • Customer-first approach to problem solving and product development
  • Proactive, decisive self-starter with strong project management and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication skills to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration
  • High level of organization, initiative, and personal accountability
