China Manufacturing Correspondent – Shenzhen
Role Overview
Reuters is looking for a skilled journalist to lead coverage of China’s manufacturing, robotics, and high-tech innovation sectors from Shenzhen. As part of the Reuters News Accelerator Program (RNAP), this position supports experienced reporters in deepening their expertise through global storytelling. You will investigate and report on how industrial transformation in China is shaping economic and strategic developments worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce original, forward-thinking reports for international distribution, collaborating with political, corporate, and economic desks
- Deliver timely, accurate reporting on fast-moving developments in manufacturing and technology
- Explore how automation, robotics, and industrial innovation are driving change in global supply chains and policy
- Collaborate with visual journalists to create compelling digital-first content using graphics, video, and photography
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in business, technology, or innovation journalism
- Strong news sense and the ability to identify emerging trends ahead of the curve
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
- Comfort working across multidisciplinary teams
- Experience integrating data into reporting to enhance depth and clarity
- Fluency in Chinese is required
