Coloplast is looking for a Medical Reimbursement Intern to gain direct, practical experience within our revenue cycle operations. You will develop a foundational understanding of insurance refund processes, financial controls, and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will be integral to supporting our financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Research and identify payor-specific refund requirements, including required documentation and standardized forms within Smartsheets and Brightree.
- Prepare and assemble complete refund request packets to meet payor guidelines.
- Ensure accurate mailing of refund checks and all required documentation.
- Track refund submissions and follow up on returned or rejected checks.
- Partner with Accounting and Accounts Payable to coordinate refund processing and ensure proper financial documentation.
- Update patient and insurance accounts in Brightree once refunds have been processed to ensure accurate account balances.
- Support reduction of aged insurance credits, particularly those exceeding 365 days.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management to meet internship goals and business priorities.
What We're Looking For
- Enrolled in a post-secondary program in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- 3-6 months of related office clerical or data entry experience OR equivalent related course work.
