Abridge is looking for a Medical Data Annotation Specialist to join our team. You will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality data annotation projects, ensuring our datasets meet internal standards and support our AI, machine learning, and analytics initiatives. Your work is critical to enhancing AI algorithms for healthcare technology.
What You'll Do
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor data annotation projects from initiation to delivery.
- Collaborate with the research team, product team, healthcare providers, and UI/UX team to accurately identify elements requiring annotation.
- Create detailed instruction sets and lead scaled annotation efforts with external teams.
- Manage an annotation workforce (contractors, vendors, or internal team), including assigning tasks, tracking productivity, and resolving blockers.
- Implement and oversee quality assurance protocols to ensure annotated data meets accuracy standards.
- Proactively identify project risks and take corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations, payer policies, and healthcare industry standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect patient information in compliance with HIPAA.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in project management, data operations, or data annotation/labelling.
- Strong analytical abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Understanding of medical billing processes and reimbursement methodologies.
- Medical training in areas such as pre-med, nursing, pharmacy, or international medical programs.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
- Commitment to maintaining professional ethics and confidentiality.
- Willingness to stay updated on industry changes and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and assume individual initiative.
- Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, but may be required to work up to 40 hours per week.
- Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as the workload and hours may change weekly.
- Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
- This is a remote position within the United States.
