Vail Clinic is hiring a Medical Assistant - Specialty Float to independently assist providers and clinical teams with patient care, maintain records, and complete administrative duties. This remote role is pivotal in managing patient communication and ensuring smooth clinical workflows.
What You'll Do
- Field patient phone calls and voicemails promptly and professionally.
- Address patient portal and Electronic Health Record (EHR) messages within established timeframes.
- Communicate patient questions and concerns to the appropriate provider or team member.
- Receive and process patient refill requests based on qualifying factors.
- Escalate refill requests to the provider with necessary information when needed.
- Manage provider’s patient portal messages, sorting them within the EHR.
- Close the loop with patients on requests, questions, results, or concerns.
- Ensure accuracy and proper documentation in patient electronic health records.
- Communicate with the clinical care team as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance, and OSHA rules and regulations.
- Must be HIPAA compliant.
Nice to Have
- 2 years of experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties.
