Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Pediatrics team at the McHenry location. This is a full-time role with weekday hours, starting between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., and ending between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting physicians and nursing staff by delivering high-quality clinical assistance and maintaining efficient clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide patients to exam rooms and verify identity using two identifiers
- Collect and record accurate vital signs following organizational standards
- Update patient histories including allergies, medication lists, pharmacy details, and smoking status
- Alert providers promptly to any concerning changes in symptoms or vitals
- Prepare exam rooms before and after patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and readiness
- Anticipate provider needs by setting up equipment, instruments, and procedure trays
- Perform clinical tasks including venipuncture, immunizations, ECGs, and specimen collection
- Conduct CLIA-waived testing as directed by the provider
- Follow protocols for disinfecting, sterilizing, and maintaining medical tools and devices
- Monitor vaccine and medication inventory, ensuring proper storage and disposal of expired supplies
- Support daily operations by assisting with supply ordering and adhering to opening and closing procedures
- Respond flexibly to changing demands to keep patient flow efficient
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and care team members
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to a collaborative, positive work environment

Work Environment
