CVS Health is looking for a part-time Medical Assistant II specializing in Diabetes Care to join an outpatient endocrinology team. In this role, you will support our mission of delivering a coordinated and comprehensive patient experience by ensuring smooth patient flow and assisting in examinations and treatments. You'll be an integral part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team passionate about endocrinology.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate pre-visit paperwork and preparation, addressing special patient needs.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and take vital signs and manual blood pressures.
- Perform direct patient care activities, including downloading diabetic glucometers and collecting specimens.
- Handle prescription refill requests and prior authorizations.
- Perform front desk functions: scheduling, check-in/out, collecting copays, and managing referrals.
- Assist providers with office procedures.
- Clean and restock exam rooms.
- Provide and coordinate delivery of patient services under physician, Triage RN, or practice manager direction.
- Perform point-of-care testing, including fingerstick testing and eye exams.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient records.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 1-2 years of direct Medical Assistant experience or work in the medical field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Compliance with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules.
- Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure and to collect blood samples.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions.
- Ability to manage one’s own time and the time of others.
Nice to Have
- Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- National Certification as a Medical Assistant via AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant course or diploma program.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience.

Team & Environment
You will join a team of 12 providers, working on a rotating provider model within a close-knit, collaborative team of Medical Assistants. You will report directly to a Physician, Triage RN, or practice manager.
