Gilead Sciences, Inc. is seeking a Medical Affairs-Liver professional to join our team in Japan. This hybrid role combines Medical Affairs and Medical Scientist (MS) responsibilities, providing scientific and medical guidance throughout the product lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with Japan Medical Affairs, Global/Asia Medical Affairs, and other key functions to advance care for patients with liver diseases.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Liver Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other key external stakeholders.
- Engage in regular communication with Liver KOLs to provide medical insights, background information, data, and responses to scientific inquiries.
- Attend major conferences, coordinate medical affairs activities, and present to external audiences as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in liver disease.
- Manage assigned projects to completion, proactively identifying and resolving challenges collaboratively.
- Ensure all activities comply with corporate compliance policies, industry codes of conduct, and applicable regulations.
- Lead planning and execution of the Liver Plan of Action, including data generation, publications, and medical education programs.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including clinical, regulatory, and commercial on initiatives like publication planning and speaker education.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English.
- Sound judgment and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Hands-on approach with effective use of external resources.
- High learning agility.
Nice to Have
- Advanced degree in life science (PhD, Pharm D, MD) with clinical and research experience.
- Experience in medical, MSL, or R&D in the Liver disease area.
- Demonstrated leadership in ambiguous situations.
- Project management skills.
