Mass General Brigham is looking for a Medical Administrative Assistant II to perform administrative and clinical functions that support smooth and efficient clinical service or practice operations. You'll be a key part of our mission to support patient care, research, teaching, and community service.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine administrative and clerical duties for a clinical service or physician practice office.
- Make patient appointments and maintain appointment records.
- Greet and assist patients, and answer telephones to schedule appointments and handle routine inquiries.
- File materials in patient folders and print appointment schedules.
- Process patient billing forms and scan documents to patient medical records.
- Call for patient medical records and laboratory test results.
- Open and distribute unit mail or faxes.
- Type forms, records, schedules, and memos as directed.
- Accept co-payments as required.
- Handle, screen, and take messages related to prior authorizations, provider questions, prescription refills, and test results.
- Act as a 'Super User' for scheduling, registration, and billing systems, providing assistance and training to others.
- Perform more complex or specialized functions, such as surgical scheduling or schedule changes, at a more advanced competency level.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2-3 years of office experience
Nice to Have
- Certified Medical Administrative Assistant [CMAA] certification
