Briggs & Stratton is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on experience, complementing your academic studies and expanding your foundational knowledge. You'll collaborate closely with supervisors, team members, and project leaders across various business functions.
What You'll Do
- Perform simple, routine designs using standard procedures, tools, materials, and software under supervision.
- During the summer term, learn PTC Creo, work on small projects and engineering changes, learn our engine systems, and shadow an engineer and senior designer.
- During the fall and spring terms, work on more complicated designs and drawings, and assist on projects on a part-time basis.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited technical school studying toward an associate degree in mechanical design or mechanical engineering.
- Good mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of computer software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- The ability and willingness to follow directions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong initiative to seek work and learn new concepts and ideas.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Fluent in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility.
Nice to Have
- An interest in design and/or engines.
- An interest in tool design.

Work Mode
This is an onsite position located in Wauwatosa, WI. Compensation is dependent upon year in school.
