KIPP NYC Public Schools is looking for a Math Teacher to bring our academic and cultural vision to life through daily lesson planning, intentional curriculum design, and regular data analysis. You will be responsible for implementing Social Emotional Learning and Restorative Practices to foster a joyful, inclusive, and rigorous classroom community.
What You'll Do
- Plan daily lessons and long-term curriculum aligned with KIPP’s academic vision and goals.
- Analyze student data regularly to identify academic trends and inform your instructional practices.
- Maintain a positive, warm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Implement culturally responsive classroom management strategies to create a safe learning space.
- Communicate regularly with staff, students, families, and other key stakeholders.
- Attend and engage in weekly Professional Development and Communities of Practice.
- Update student records, including attendance, grades, and behavior data.
What We're Looking For
- A B.A./B.S. degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Meet one of the following: hold a valid teaching credential in the desired subject, OR be eligible for a Provisional Internship Permit or Short Term Staff Permit (CPR certification required for permits).
- Commitment to KIPP’s mission, vision, and being an anti-racist educator.
- Belief that all students can achieve at the highest academic levels.
- Strong content area knowledge in mathematics.
- Strong skills in building relationships with students, families, and communities.
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues.
- Proficient knowledge of Google Suite applications (Classroom, Docs, Sheets, etc.).
- Ability to learn and utilize instructional technology like Zoom and Nearpod to support in-class and distance learning.

- Experience teaching students with demographics similar to KIPP Public Schools Northern California communities.
