Nestlé is hiring a Materials Planning Coordinator

About the Role

Nestlé is hiring a Materials Planning Coordinator to support production at our Solon facility. You will be responsible for purchasing assigned raw materials and packaging to meet detailed production schedule requirements, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and communicating needs across suppliers and internal teams.

What You'll Do

  • Create a feasible production plan within the detailed scheduling period by shift, optimizing for factory costs, capacity, labor, and materials.
  • Review the detailed production schedule daily, weekly, and monthly to ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Compute needs for assigned packaging and food commodities using SAP, reacting promptly to schedule changes.
  • Generate all purchase orders for assigned materials and reconcile blocked/parked invoices within three days.
  • Track and count down materials for recipe changes, new materials, and product discontinuations.
  • Communicate contract status to Purchasing and ensure effective dates correspond with planned usage.
  • Evaluate vendor performance via a semi-annual review.
  • Coordinate with Nestlé Transportation Company for intra-plant shipments and conduct follow-ups.
  • Maintain low inventory levels while meeting Production’s requirements.
  • Perform the duties of a fellow coordinator in their absence to ensure department coverage.
  • Monitor Government approvals on materials, especially packaging.
  • Communicate to ensure promotional packaging materials are used as planned and document effective dates.
  • Provide warehouse receiving with vendor schedule appointment times and communicate on shipments that may jeopardize the schedule.
  • Coordinate with plant groups on test material deliveries and releases with vendors.
  • Ensure raw and packaging materials are used before SLED, run the obsolete material report monthly, and take action to avoid scrapping.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Inventory.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in production scheduling, material handling, and/or supply chain management.
  • Prior experience negotiating with vendors.
  • Factory master data management experience.
  • Understanding and following the product life cycle process.
  • Experience in purchasing and planning systems.
  • Excellent communication skills (strong verbal and written required).
  • Customer service, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with all levels from hourly to management.
  • Time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • A solid understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel.

Nice to Have

  • Additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in SAP and OMP.
