Becton Dickinson (BD) is hiring a Material Tech to manage raw materials, inventory, and auxiliary equipment for injection molding production. You'll play a key role in supporting the manufacturing floor, ensuring materials are accurately supplied and handled.

What You'll Do

Order accurate raw materials for work orders and charge out materials to those orders.
Supply and maintain inventory of bags, boxes, totes, and pallets.
Accurately clean material hoppers, grinders, and bins.
Supply and maintain regrind usage through the vacuum loading system.
Assure regrind is accurately stored and identified for reuse or resale.
Accurately weigh and record regrind for resale and load trailers.
Accurately identify and label all materials in bins, grinders, and gaylords.
Ensure virgin and concentrate materials are supplied to the correct injection molding machine from the warehouse location, weighed, and recorded.
Ensure materials requiring drying are dried at proper settings for the correct length of time.
Maintain all housekeeping requirements for the warehouse and production floor.
Set up auxiliary equipment vital for production runs, including replacing, cleaning, and changing filters and empty barrels.
Perform minor adjustments to auxiliary and material conveying equipment under direction of a skilled team member.
Complete all required paperwork.
Assist other team members in cross-training.
Maintain open communication to resolve problems and communicate changes in a timely manner.
Participate on safety and emergency response teams and attend monthly Safety Meetings and other required meetings.
Align with all departmental attendance and performance policies.
Work overtime as needed.
Actively participate in Continuous Improvement teams and activities, including 5S, blitzes, Shift Start-up, updating PVD boards, etc.
Continuously improve through the KAS program, meeting department goals for completed KAS.
Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures, including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.
Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices.
