Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is offering a Master's thesis position where you will isolate and cultivate primary skin cells from eyelid tissue and skin donations to create a 3D skin model for use as an in vitro test system. You will conduct this project on-site within the Biolab, contributing directly to innovative research.
What You'll Do
- Conduct the isolation and cultivation of primary skin cells and fibroblasts.
- Develop a 3D skin model.
- Contribute to a feasibility study on the production of artificial skin.
What We're Looking For
- You are studying Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or a comparable field.
- An independent work style and enjoyment of interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Good language skills in German and/or English.
Nice to Have
- First knowledge of sterile work and cell culture is advantageous.
- Ideally, first experience with common cell characterization methods like PCR, FACS, or IF.
Team & Environment
You will be part of the Department of Precision Technology and Automation and report to Claudia Skazik-Voogt Dr. rer. Nat., Head of the Biolab.
