Lead and optimize manufacturing operations in a dynamic, high-demand environment focused on precision and continuous improvement. As a Manufacturing Group Leader, you'll oversee daily production activities, ensuring alignment with operational goals centered on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Your role is critical in maintaining workflow efficiency, adapting to real-time production needs, and guiding teams through evolving manufacturing challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and adjust to daily production plans, responding quickly to operational changes and workflow demands
- Supervise team performance, providing direction, feedback, and support to maintain accountability and engagement
- Perform physical tasks including bending, lifting (up to 40 lbs.), standing for extended periods, and operating in non-climate-controlled conditions
- Follow safety protocols by wearing required personal protective equipment and responding to alarms and signals without delay
- Interpret work instructions, operate tools and machinery, and conduct quality checks to ensure output meets standards
- Work rotating shifts and be available for weekend assignments, typically around two per month, to support production continuity
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one year of direct supervisory experience, or at least five months as an internal GM per diem group leader
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and resolve workplace conflicts
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Basic computer skills, including email, typing, and Microsoft Word
- Must be 18 years or older and willing to work variable shifts and weekends as needed
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP) and Throughput Improvement Process (TIP)
- Background in Lean Manufacturing, Built-in-Quality initiatives, or Red X & DFSS methodologies
- Experience in unionized manufacturing settings, supply chain, or quality assurance
- Knowledge of timekeeping systems and advanced production assembly techniques
