About the Role

Excelitas is seeking a Manager, Trade Compliance – North America to partner with the Director in administering compliance programs for import and export activities across the region. This role ensures adherence to U.S., Canadian, and Mexican trade regulations, including ITAR, EAR, and customs requirements, serving as a subject matter expert for international trade laws.

What You'll Do

  • Interpret and apply U.S. and international trade regulations, ensuring compliance with tariff classification, country of origin determination, and export control classification numbers.
  • Develop and maintain trade compliance policies and procedures for North America.
  • Assist in denied party screening, export licensing, and import/export documentation.
  • Design and deliver compliance training programs for employees and stakeholders.
  • Continually assess regulations and apply them to our business, including an ongoing assessment of risk.
  • Assist in internal audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in interactions with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Departments of State and Commerce, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Partner with broader Legal team, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Finance teams to ensure compliance in daily operations.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 8+ years in a relevant export control or trade compliance role within a manufacturing or service business.
  • Detailed knowledge of US export control, sanctions and boycott regulations.
  • Strong working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and other relevant compliance regulations.
  • Demonstrated success in creating, implementing, managing, and improving Trade Compliance programs.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of cross-function and geography collaboration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills as part of a team.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Applicant must be eligible for security clearance.
  • All applicants must comply with the CGP (Controlled Goods Program).
  • Must be a US Person. No sponsorship offered for this position.

Team & Environment

This role reports to the Director, Trade Compliance – North America and partners with cross-functional teams across Legal, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Finance.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position based in Pittsburgh, PA.
