Alkami is looking for a Manager, Software Engineering focused on our Large Banks (MANTL) product line. You will build the core experiences used by both bank administrators and bank customers by delivering streamlined, high-quality product workflows and the technical systems behind them. This role centers on designing and implementing user-facing flows, building robust and scalable APIs, and integrating with third-party services.
What You'll Do
- Contribute production-grade code with strong documentation and testing.
- Bring a systems thinking mindset to feature development and prioritize reliability through thoughtful error handling, logging, and edge case coverage.
- Help translate complex product requirements into elegant, maintainable solutions.
- Actively shape architecture through strong technical judgment, clear communication, and well-reasoned decision-making.
- Mentor and enable the team through technical guidance, thoughtful code reviews, and continuous improvement.
- Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams while constantly setting and communicating team priorities.
- Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role.
- Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.
- Develop the mid-term technical vision and roadmap within the scope of your team(s).
- Evolve the technical roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
- Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area.
- Write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
- Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
- Constantly review infrastructure metrics, SLA’s, quality metrics to ensure the right technical investments.
- Work with Product Management to collaborate through creative brainstorming sessions and assist in writing requirements for technical debt.
What We're Looking For
- 2 years of experience in a technology leadership role.
- Proven track record of building and leading a high-performing team.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering with hands-on coding.
- Strong background in object oriented programming such as React.js, TypeScript, Node.js, Python.
- Strong experience building Systems and API development.
- Strong experience working with eventing technologies such as Kafka.
- Strong experience with Databases such as Postgres.
- Passion for high-performance and high-throughput design.
- Demonstrated improved growth and leadership of successful teams over time.
- Successful in managing multiple concurrent work streams.
