Lead and shape the future of eReader software by managing multiple Agile teams responsible for the core systems behind a leading digital reading platform. Based in Dublin, Ireland or Darmstadt, Germany, you'll guide a group of approximately 20 engineers and testers, ensuring technical excellence across design, development, monitoring, and incident response.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor engineers and testers across three Agile teams, fostering professional growth through regular feedback and one-on-one sessions.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle, from architecture decisions to production support.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Architecture teams to move initiatives from concept to launch.
- Improve team processes continuously, balancing immediate delivery goals with long-term technical health and team well-being.
- Coordinate with other engineering leads to ensure alignment and smooth execution on cross-team initiatives.
- Support an inclusive culture where team members feel empowered to contribute authentically and reach their potential.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience leading software engineering teams, ideally in consumer hardware or embedded systems.
- Proven background as a software developer, with strong experience in C++ and software lifecycle best practices.
- Experience managing individual contributors, conducting performance reviews, and guiding career development.
- Ability to translate technical needs into strategic discussions and advocate effectively across teams.
- Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience
- Background in eReader or consumer electronics development.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, Linux, Qt framework, or GUI development.
- Experience working with external hardware partners or suppliers.
