About the Role

Salesforce is hiring a Manager, Software Engineering to expand the Data Modeling and Analytics capabilities of Tableau. You will build and lead a team of 5-8 full stack software engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship to deliver the next generation of Tableau Analytics.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a team of 5-8 full stack software engineers on critical projects for Tableau's Data Modeling and Analytics.
  • Recruit, hire, support, and grow a diverse team of engineering talent.
  • Mentor the team in best engineering practices to foster productivity and collaboration.
  • Provide technical guidance and participate in architectural and design discussions.
  • Use expertise in Data Modeling and Semantic Layers to build advanced data visualization and insights into Tableau Online, Server, and Desktop products.
  • Collaborate with Product Management on feature requirements and with UX Designers on user experience.
  • Drive a culture of operational excellence focused on scale, performance, security, and reliability.
  • Participate in organization-wide initiatives to improve engineering productivity and innovation.
  • Partner with teams across the development organization to deliver new Tableau Analytics features.

What We're Looking For

  • A Master’s degree (or its foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in any related occupation.
  • Experience developing and testing multi-tiered web-based applications.
  • Experience with .NET Framework, C#, Javascript, XHTML, HTML, XML, XSLT, SOAP, Web services, jQuery, and SQL.
  • Experience developing and testing applications using C, C++, object-oriented design and analysis, software integration, and performance optimization.
  • Experience conducting code analysis, requirements analysis, architecture and software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation range: $216,590.00 - $238,000.00 per annum.
