TE Connectivity is hiring a Manager, Project Management Engineering for its Aerospace, Defense & Marine (AD&M) division. This leadership position within the AD&M Project Management Office (PMO) blends direct project delivery, portfolio management for the Relays product group, and line management of a team of Project Managers.
What You'll Do
- Execute best-in-class management of your own complex, multi-site product development projects, delivering excellent benefits.
- Supervise, guide, coach, and develop the project managers in your team (initially four people) and manage routine operational plans.
- Own the monthly Project Approval Committee (PAC) for the Relays product group, involving pre-review, facilitation, and project dispositioning.
- Act as the focal point for all projects across the portfolio, reporting progress to senior leadership on a regular cadence.
- Interact with commercial functions to monitor the opportunity pipeline and facilitate reviews and project launches.
- Manage all aspects of Project Management from opportunity development to project completion.
- Lead a team of Project Managers in a complex matrixed environment and manage the AD&M Relays Project Portfolio.
- Conduct Risk Management and lead Risk Assessment activities.
- Develop Project Business Cases alongside the Business Office.
- Report on project status and be accountable for progress against the plan.
- Escalate issues as applicable and utilize project change controls.
- Manage and be accountable for a project budget, liaising with procurement to ensure timely acquisition of goods and materials.
- Liaise with TE team members, customers, and suppliers globally.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of related experience.
- Leadership over multiple contiguous projects, including those within a regulated field.
- Experience with, or high exposure to, project portfolio management.
- Experience in people management within a professional environment.
- A track record of successful delivery of customer-facing product development projects following a Stage Gate process in a hardware development/manufacturing environment.
- Very strong interpersonal, negotiating, and influencing skills, with the ability to build credible relationships across internal and external functions.
- The ability to take ownership of projects and the portfolio, driving good decisions in a non-matrixed leadership position to deliver results.
- A clear strategic thinker with the ability to execute on priorities.
- Self-motivation and the ability to perform in a demanding environment.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and administrative skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to disseminate critical information appropriately.
- A good level of IT capability with detailed experience of Microsoft Office (MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Flexibility and a willingness to travel.
- A Project Management Professional certification (e.g., PMP, Prince 2, APM).
- A professional level of business acumen and good commercial understanding.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, U.S. lawful Permanent Resident, person granted Asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a Refugee (due to ITAR/EAR controls).
Nice to Have
- Experience with Planisware.
- Technical and commercial education/experience related to Engineering and/or Manufacturing in a similar regulated industry.
