Hormel Foods Corporation is looking for a Manager of Plant Engineering to join our team at the Papillion, NE facility. You will be responsible for managing plant physical assets, leading technical staff development, and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
What You'll Do
- Manage the installation and care of plant physical assets (building and equipment) to optimize the lifetime value of the company's investment.
- Manage the technical and professional development of all assigned staff, participating in recruitment, selection, coaching, appraisal, and development.
- Utilize the company's Enterprise Asset Management System (Infor EAMS) and support its use as a key management information tool.
- Prepare budgets and implementation plans for maintenance, repair, capital, and reliability improvement expenditures.
- Work closely with all plant management and personnel to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, statutes, codes, and regulations as well as internal company policies.
- Direct the operation and maintenance of all plant utilities systems, lead plant energy management efforts, and support Sustainability initiatives.
- Provide engineering input and oversight of plant and facility protection programs including regular inspection of buildings, fire protection systems, and security equipment.
- Effectively manage and control costs associated with the use of outside contractors and adhere to contractor compliance policies.

Nice to Have
- Minimum ten years experience in maintenance or engineering management roles to include Plant Engineering Manager or Maintenance Manager of a 350,000+ sq. ft. facility or similar.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or another technical field.
- Successful completion of one week ammonia refrigeration training with CARO certification.
