Rise Against Hunger is hiring a Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation (Program Design, Impact and Learning). You will report to the Senior Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation and play a key role in assessing the impact and sustainability of our interventions. Your work will translate raw programmatic data into clear impact stories for internal and external communication.
What You'll Do
- Support the management of the MEL strategy across Rise Against Hunger and multiple global partners.
- Work with program managers to review activities against project deliverables.
- Develop robust monitoring and evaluation plans and results frameworks.
- Coordinate with partners to ensure a strong MEL framework, aligning indicators, analyzing data, and highlighting lessons learned.
- Build partner M&E staff skills in methodologies to monitor, track, and report on outcomes.
- Support meal distribution partners in enhancing tracking systems, measuring reach, and documenting impact stories.
- Assist in planning and managing program assessments, evaluations, and studies.
- Promote project accountability, evaluation standards, quality control, and capacity development.
- Review performance reports to ensure adherence to project Logframes.
- Support annual Data Quality Assessments (DQAs).
- Provide ongoing M&E support to Pathways to End Hunger (PTEH) programs, including partner training.
- Assist PTEH programs during activity close-out with sustainability plans, final surveys, reports, and learning sessions.
- Support the development of project proposals.
- Ensure the MEL approach aligns with our partnership-based model of remote support and collaborative learning.
- Design and implement tools to translate program data into impact.
- Record management information and ensure clear data entry into database systems.
- Aggregate, clean, and analyze data for reporting and dissemination.
- Conduct descriptive and predictive analysis using tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Visualize data for presentations, storytelling, and strategic decision-making.
- Support internal and external project learning series to bolster collaboration, learning, and adaptation (CLA).
- Participate in External M&E Communities of Practice and represent Rise Against Hunger at MEL working groups.
- Coordinate with the Communications team to ensure M&E reporting follows humanitarian communication principles.
- Practice, monitor, and evaluate MEL policies aligned with humanitarian principles.
- Lead internal and external thought leadership activities like blogs, infographics, and impact storytelling.
- Collaborate with partners to develop thought leadership pieces highlighting locally-led development.
- Visit one Rise Against Hunger warehouse or attend one meal packaging event each year.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Food Security, Monitoring and Evaluation, or International Development/Relations.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related Monitoring & Evaluation experience.
- A robust set of research skills, including qualitative, quantitative, action research, and participatory methods.
- Strong analytical skills with expert knowledge of statistical software (Minitab, SPSS, SAS, STATA, EPI Info).
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Salesforce database.
- Experience in donor reporting.
- Experience working on institutional and foundation donor agency programs.
- Experience developing M&E frameworks for agricultural value chains in developing countries.
- Extensive experience managing multi-site projects and the M&E of multi-country initiatives.
- Strong writing skills for internal and external audiences.
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of food security, nutrition, climate change, and natural resource management.
- The ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with real-time management information systems and knowledge management platforms.
- Information Systems, data management, or GIS background is helpful.
- Ability to sit for long periods, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and move up to 50 pounds.
- Good hand/finger dexterity.
- Specific vision abilities: close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Up to 25% international travel, sometimes in rural settings; passport required.

- Experience or knowledge in Education, Food Security, Nutrition, Livelihoods, International Development, or Non-Profit Management.

Benefits & Compensation
- Starting pay is approximately $68,000 annually, with the final salary determined by the geographic market rate for the selected candidate.
Work Mode
This is a local-country position open to candidates in any state in the United States where Rise Against Hunger currently operates.
